Well, I am not going to lie. When it comes to special occasions and I am not surrounded by my family and friends I become a total emotional wreck but somehow I got through the day.
One of the interpreters invited us and a group of friends to her apartment last night to celebrate my birthday. She put in such a huge effort cooking up a great selection of Chinese food that she knows we like. There were no feet, ears, testicles or intestines in sight.
We had homemade noodles, tofu, duck, smoked chicken, chinese beef burgers and pork ribs with potato hotpot followed by a delicious birthday cake and speech by Leo. After Leo's speech one of the men asked if he could learn from him, how to be romantic to his wife like Leo is. No wonder Leo loves China so much now they are asking him for relationship advice.
